Park Guëll & Sant Pau Modernista

We really like to pack our days full of events, and by day 7 – not even halfway through our 18-day trip – we felt like we were in Europe for a month!

Today we saw more of Gaudi’s architecture in Park Guell

About 20 minutes by bus north of our place, we arrived in the morning to best the crowd (this place books up fast so it’s recommended to book in advance online!).
We walked around looking at the houses and architecture (there was some construction and restoration going on so we couldn’t see everything) and admiring the beautiful works.

We also took a stroll down the part of the park that was free to access and had its own uniqueness!

After the walking for a couple of hours in the park, we went for a quick snack and proceeded to visit the Sant Pau Recinte Modernista – a beautiful hospital that was fully functional until 2009 when a new one opened up.
Once the main hospital of Barcelona, this hospital is probably the most beautiful clinic we have seen yet.

Unique exhibitions and interesting architecture adorned every wall and building as we walked through.

We even captured a scenic view of La Sagrada Familia.

Spending about 1.5 hours there, it’s a new site that you shouldn’t miss (and the entry fee is pretty low in comparison with other Barcelona landmarks).

Nearing the evening, it was time to dress up and go to our flamingo dancing dinner and show at Palacio del Flamenco. We got an online deal (Groupon Spain) that worked out to 60 euros for the both of us.
The show featured a 15 minute history on the flamenco, and a 15 minute dance lesson until we were whisked away to our dinner tables to eat and watch an hour of flamenco!
The food was good and the show was excellent! This by far was one of the best deals we had on the trip.
Such a long and amazing day ended with the lights out until it was time for a relaxing beach day!
